The portion of the second floor which is the current location of the Municipal Courts was completely renovated for the new District Courtroom and provides expanded office space for the Public Defenders. The Clerk of Courts office on the third floor was also partially renovated to accommodate Judge’s Chambers for the fourth district judge.

Due to the age of the existing HVAC equipment and it’s diminished capacity to adequately condition the building, upgrades were made to the chilled water plant, boiler plant, air handling units, variable air volume terminal boxes and temperature controls throughout the building. The upgrades will increase energy efficiency while providing N+1 redundancy at the boiler and chiller plants. A cable tray loop will also be installed on each floor to facilitate future upgrades to the County Technology cabling.
