Eagle County Justice Center

$20.5 M | 31,000 SF

Cator, Ruma & Associates provided the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for this addition and remodel to the Eagle County Justice Center. The project included a 16,000-square-foot addition to the existing detention center for inmate housing. It also included a new Sheriff’s administration area, and a new 15,000-square-foot courtroom addition.

The administration area and courts of the existing detention center were remodeled to enlarge the kitchen, laundry, District Attorney’s office, and Sheriff’s spaces.

  • Rooftop air-handling units were replaced with new split DX air handlers with hot water heating coils.
  • Aerco hot water condensing boilers were installed, due to the footprint size characteristics and high-efficiency operation.

  • An approximate 16 KW photovoltaic system was provided and installed on a structure above the roof, facing south.
  • The lighting control system consists of lighting relay panels with integral time clocks, manual override switches, and photocells. Photocells control exterior lighting and interior atrium lighting.
