St. Luke’s Medical Center Downtown Campus Improvement Project

The St. Luke’s Medical Center in Boise project is a multi-phase plan for renovation and expansion that is taking place in phases. The goal of the project is to meet the growing healthcare needs of Boise and surrounding communities.

Cator, Ruma & Associates was selected to provide mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems design and contract administration for the new 3-story orthopedic hospital and 4-story orthopedic medical office building (MOB)/clinic. A five-story parking garage is also included. The hospital is an outpatient and inpatient facility providing outpatient specialty surgeries and inpatient care. Departments housed inside of this wing include urgent care clinic, medical imaging, food and nutrition services, administration suite, laboratory, surgery, sterile processing, pre op/post op, inpatient rooms, and pharmacy.

The MOB is an outpatient facility. The first floor houses offices and conference rooms, while the top three floors house seven clinic spaces and a rehab therapy suite. There are numerous imaging and procedure rooms within each clinic space.

Mechanical infrastructure, central plant, air handling units (AHUs), duct work, operating rooms, steam, and heating water were all included for the project.
