Cator, Ruma & Associates was selected to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology design for a new four-story classroom and biology building on Colorado State University’s Fort Collins campus. The building houses research laboratories (including labs for emerging biotechnology), state-of-the-art classroom and teaching facilities, student lounges, staff offices and study spaces. 

A large central air handling system with partial redundancy and a heat recovery system were installed to serve these spaces. The heat recovery system was connected from the laboratory exhaust system. 

Separate exhaust fan systems were provided for radioisotope and perchloric fume hoods. HVAC and power were provided for a large centralized lab freezer and refrigerator room.
