Parker
Adventist Hospital
Parker, Colorado

Estimated Construction Cost:  $57,000,000

Cator, Ruma & Associates provided Mechanical (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection) and Electrical (Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Telecommunications Infrastructure, Security Infrastructure) Design and Construction Administration services for a new full-service Hospital in the Parker community.

The four-story 58-bed (58 in the first phase; 43 shelled) Hospital opened on schedule the first week of February 2004. The project is 212,000 square feet.

Patient rooms were designed for “Universal Care,” which means each patient room is capable of being used as an ICU room, if necessary, due to the monitoring and medical gas capabilities built into them. Patients will no longer be required to move to the type of care they need, the care will be adjusted to fit their needs.

The Hospital includes a 7,000 SF Children’s Hospital pediatric wing.  All medical equipment on this wing is sized and calibrated for children.

Cator, Ruma & Associates was honored with the Edwin F. Guth Section Award for Interior Lighting Design in the International Illumination Design Competition for 2004 conducted by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America Rocky Mountain Section for their design of this Hospital.
