Cator, Ruma & Associates

In 1963, as the Company gained recognition in the industry, grew in size and increased its workloads, we changed our name to Cator, Ruma & Associates, Co.

In an effort to provide supplementary comprehensive services, we expanded our operations to include an Electrical Engineering Department in 1982. The Electrical Department has since grown to fully complement the Mechanical Department, and continues to be integral to the success of our Company.

In 2006, we added a Lighting Design Studio and consolidated our  Information Technology efforts into a formal Department to expand our commitment to providing architectural lighting design and low-voltage systems design.

To accommodate our steady growth, in 2007 we designed, built, and moved into our own building, remaining in our native city of Lakewood, Colorado.

Today

Since 1959, we have grown to over 90 employees while doing work throughout the Midwest and the Western United States. We are wholly owned and managed by our seven Principals. They are committed and proud to maintain a very high Standard of Excellence that Cator, Ruma & Associates is known for in the industry. Since our founding, we have worked with many contractors, architects, governments and institutions. Our project success has been the vehicle that has allowed us to develop a long-standing and faithful repeat client base. Through these working relationships, we have developed a valuable familiarity with critical project types.

As we move forward, our Company’s goal is to continue to provide quality consulting engineering services to our clients in a professional and cost effective fashion. We will continue to be one of the very best Engineering Firms in the United States by providing such services as analysis, design, and construction observation through satisfactory completion of system installation and operation.
